Picture Frame

Rather than being hand-carved from wood, some picture frames are made from a plaster mold. And some aren’t gilded but are gold painted instead. This picture frame fell from its wall mounting to the floor, breaking all four corners and several of the plaster gold painted ornaments were lost. I had to copy the design using plaster, gold color and tar. Tar is used in many cases to age new gold or silver leaf on antique furniture.
